Nora Royer, MD - No Longer at Mercy

If there were negative stars to give, I would do a -4.5 Adequate surgeon from my experience, but a completely wretched physician. Thoughtless, verbally and physically abusive, dishonest on records, she contradicted 3 other doctors that had seen me for the same condition the same day. I have written to University of Iowa as well as Mercy CR to have notations made that she never be allowed to treat me again under any circumstances. She saw me 6 days after my procedure, but was gone from Mercy in less than two weeks post-op. I wouldn't send someone I hated to be treated by her, much less a loved one. I would say the only people she should be allowed to work on is the dead, but her gross untruths in her medical notes would be ethically questionable for even that. Nobody should have this

My first appointment was brief , but her nurse was very knowledgeable as she spends the time necessary to determine or at least have some idea as to each individuals situation. She, Dr Royer, seemed to have good bedside manners and explained it to you. It was a very nice atmosphere and the rooms were quite nice. If inn fact, I would need more surgery due to my hernias, she definitely would be my choice.

After being referred to Mercy ER from another facility, my husband and I were very put off with Ms. Royer's attitude from the get go. Horrible bedside manor with accusatory verbage toward my husband that was incorrect to the truth as well as not necessary to treat him. Pushing back in his very large hernia as he cried in pain, without any warning and no mercy. Now a week later he lies in bed with severe pain and a hernia that naturally popped itself back out in minutes. Thank the Lord another great surgeon had fit him in to actually care and fix him.

Professional. Office staff was good. I didn't have to wait long to be seen. Gave good care.
