National Institutes of Health security team do a good job protecting staff, patients, and family and other loved ones of the patience. Be prepared to get out of your car and go inside a a very small building to walk through a metal detector. Security staff will also search your car, give you a temporary badge, and send you on your way to fimd parking, do yourself a favor and if you are visiting building 10, drive right up to the front of the building for free valet parking. Otherwise you might end up in the parking lot underground which is the longest underground parking lot I've seen in 56 years. It must be at least a quarter mile long.
