My mother in law was here (NHC) for a few weeks. These folks were so great and caring. The nurses and attendants were amazing. The facility was very clean and well cared for. Everyone new everyone and they were all greeted by name. I am going to mention a few names I remember and they are remembered because of how outstanding they were in caring for my mother in law. Becky manager, Kirsten intake, Ann Nurse, Ivy director of nursing wow!!! Not only did they take care of MOM - they took care of us!!! Caris Care Hospice who worked closely with NHC staff (their office is very close by) here are the people that made an impression, Megan with Caris Hospice, Mona with Caris Hospice, also with Caris Debbie, Mary, Chrissy, Beth, and Jennifer. My mother went to NHC from November 21, 2025 to December 11, 2025. Nurse Kristen McMackins and Social WorkerJodie Forsythe were friendly to work with regarding our mothers care. Staff were knowledgeable and very kind. Food and meals were fine. They cleaned rooms daily. PT was great but my mom caught a cold from one lady with a cough, or her roommate. My mom had a viral infection, high blood pressure, and other ailments at 90 years old. After 3 weeks she was able to go home, along with an ordered wheel chair. The only issue our family had was that she shared a room with a beautiful 🥰 and kind 92 year old senior who had a chronic cough, so I kept placing her trash can by her bed for her to spit into. The facility is very clean, the grounds for patients and families in the back yard area are beautiful. The food the patient's recieve is very good, better then most hospitals and long term living. The staff is very friendly and helpful in most of their ways of handling difficult situations. I'd say that having volunteers with companion puppies and dogs would be a great bonus to have on a daily basis. There are way too many people in wheelchairs in the halls and the activity room. It would be even better if there was a tech savvy person to help the residents operate some of their daily tech issues, even though they may just need to do a quick check on the residents to make sure all their TVs are working right, keeping a phone near the bed for the residents. But my recent experience at NHC Milan Rehabilitation Center compels me to share feedback that I hope will spark reflection and improvement. This is a first impression, which we all know is very important, but redemption is a possibility and I will update the post if I experience issues have been addressed and if we as a family will continue his tenure of rehabilitation at this facility.
