Nexus Children's Hospital - The Woodlands

Our son was at Nexus for 3 months until our insurance would no longer cover his stay. His experience while there was so positive and he returned home feeling so much happier and proud of his weight loss of nearly 60 pounds. The entire team at Nexus - clinical and support and administrative were caring and went out of their way to find ways to engage our son who is on the older end of the age spectrum in many ways. The staff also worked with us to get our insurance to cover as long as possible which was not easy. Jump Start was truly that for our son as he continues to follow the Nexus structure and meal plan back at home and continues to lose weight. I highly recommend the program and thank you to the entire team for all you did for our son!

My son was here at this facility for 6 1/2 months and it was life changing for him as well as all of us. The facility was a complete God send. They taught our son to be more independent and how to make good healthy food choices, as well as working on his behavior. We are so thankful we found Nexus and would highly recommend it to anyone with a kiddo with PWS.

please only send your child here if they really need it like if they was on the verge of dieing! Because even know that some of the nurses are incredibly! on the other hand a lots of the staff's are incredibly abusive and horrible to the children at this place! But for most the children that it is life changing for them!

I came to deliver food today to one of the workers and no one was available at the front. Some lady with an attitude came to take the food from me. I'm not sure if it was the person I was delivering for but she was extremely rude. I hope to God they don't treat the children there the way I was treated. I have been in multiple Nexus buildings for my day job and have never been greeted that way. This is honestly the problem with healthcare. The quality of workers providing care for patients. Rolling your eyes and being rude is not how visitors should be greeted. I am so sorry I interrupted you doing absolutely nothing and you had to get up to assist me.

This is not a good place to leave your children, most of the Nurses provide genuine care and care about the kids. However, Administrators do not, nor do the Coordinators or most of the CNAs. They treat the patients like second class citizens and are usually the cause of behavioral outbursts from the patients. No evidence based practice used here just yelling at kids all day, putting them down and just looking for reasons to discipline the children.  We were told that the coordinators were experts in PWS , come to find out that they are CNAs!!! Not world renowned experts like we were told.
