Newport Pharmacy

Today I called this pharmacy to check if they had a nebulizer kit in stock. The lady on the phone confirmed they did and told me the price would be around $6 with tax. I arrived less than 15 minutes later. At the register, the cashier was very rude. When she scanned the item, no price came up. I even showed her the NDC number on the item and the listed shelf price of $6.09. She claimed the shelf price and system price don’t always have to match and tried to charge me $10 instead. When I questioned it, she snapped back with, “It’s not my store, I asked my boss.” I asked to speak with her boss directly, and only then did she finally change the price but to $7.00 as an otc adjustment misc. Newport Pharmacy is a decent local spot in Downtown Jersey City—convenient if you're near Newport Center or PATH. Free delivery is a nice perk (especially for busy days), and the staff is generally friendly and helpful with questions or insurance stuff. They've handled my refills okay most times. It's 3 stars though because waits at the counter can be long (even with not many people), and service feels a bit inconsistent on busier days. Fine for basics, but not always the smoothest—better than some chains for the personal touch, but patience needed.

Newport pharmacy is excellent. The team will always work to get you the best price in your prescriptions, saving you time and money. Everyone on staff is very helpful and friendly. The pharmacists offer clear, simple, and comprehensive guidance on your medications. Items in the store are a bit more expensive than you would find at a big chain pharmacy, but the convenience more than makes up for it and it's worth that little extra to keep such a quality institution running.

Bad customer service and some LIARS. I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE A PERSCRIPTION IN STOCK AND WHEN MY BOYFRIEND CALLED BACK TO ASK ANOTHER QUESTION AFTER HAVING SURGERY, THEY LIED AND SAID THEY NEVER SPOKE TO ME AND SAID THEY NOW DONT HAVE THE PERSCRIPTION AND NEVER SAID THEY DID HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

The staff were always friendly and helpful. However, I would caution anyone who is picking up a controlled substance. I was using Newport pharmacy for around 2 years, and the last 3 months of picking up Vyvanse I counted 8 empty capsules. I thought it was originally some sort of accident, but after I tried to switch pharmacies because of this (my doctor mistakenly sent my prescription to Newport) at the 3rd continuous month, I counted another 3 empty pills - I will not be picking up from here any longer. It was only the last 3 months that I even noticed any empty capsules, so I’m not sure how long I was being shorted on my prescription and taking empties.
