I went to see him in August. With acute intercostal nerve pain. I was basically in tears so he said OK I’ll give you some shots. He did not explain any of the risks. I thought they were just trigger point shots that never affected me negatively in the past. Anyway, turns out he did 10 Cortizone shots in my ribs. My back was so bruised that people thought that I was in a car accident. Anyway, I reported him to the boards. I requested all my records and lo and behold when I look on the appointment notes, he said I tolerated these shots with no difficulty. That is the biggest lie I’ve ever heard. I swore and I screamed and I cried, and he even joked with me and said “do you kiss your mother with that mouth?” The PA Kayla Sharpe was there as a witness. I have Medicare as my primary insurance, with Florida Medicaid through the Medicare Savings Program as secondary. In this situation, providers who accept Medicare are required by law to either bill Medicaid for the Medicare deductible and coinsurance or write off those amounts. They are not permitted to bill the patient. Despite this, Dr. Kandel’s office attempted to bill me over $100 for a routine office visit with a nurse practitioner. My Medicare Summary Notices clearly show that my patient responsibility for this visit was $0. I made multiple good-faith attempts resolve the billing issue. Instead of correcting the issue, the office sent me a letter terminating me as a patient, leaving me without care. It is also unlawful to refuse or discontinue treatment of a Medicare patient solely

Dr. Kandel and team are amazing! They helped me to find comfort in my life away from constant pain. I have moved from Florida to Tennessee. I have been gone for eight months. And to date I have not located a neurologist with the same services of care😢.

I thought wonderful ideas of Dr. Kandel, except for the fact that he doesn’t care for other ethnicity of patients. At least That’s how I felt, considering I know he sees northern patients as we call them snowbirds. Ive known of him for over 20 years being that I’ve lived in Naples for 30. I have a northern address in northern Florida and I have a local address in Naples which I reside 5 months out of the year. Initial visit, no problem. Then when he made my appointments… wasting my time, their office canceled my future appts for testing because I do not live with any 20 mile radius, I explained that even same-day appointments if I had something pending, I would not be able to come in .
