Dr. Coats & his office has done a wonderful job when it comes to my health. I've had two surgeries with Dr. Coats. First was to repair L4/L5 & he did a wonderful job. The second surgery was much more serious. I had a very large tumor in my spinal cord that even with MRI's could have not prepared them until they opened my spinal cord. It was causing paralysis & undescribable pain. Dr.Coats did a very lengthy & precise surgery removing this HUGE tumor in a very bad spot when it comes to sugeries. The surgery was a success with minimal nerve damage. He gave me my life back. His bedside manors is so kind. I was in the hospital for 10 days & he checked on me with his assistant EVERY DAY!!!! I thought I would never recover but with his guidance & encouragement, I did. I read the negative reviews

I am surprised when I came across some negative feedback because I have been treated by Dr. Coats going so far back I can not remember the years. But that doesn't mean anything because I think as a surgeon and a caring doctor I would trust him with my life. I shared my feelings about his special skills and dedication. He performed a major surgery on my back and if for whatever reason I would have to have surgery regarding neurosurgery he would be the neuro surgeon i would go with hands down. No one is perfect but cost and effect we need to understand that the office staff working with the public at time may come across as needing improvements and its important to let them know. I've known Dr. Coats since 1997. He's done two cervical fusions, three lower lumbar procedures. Over the years we've confided in him and vice versa. They broke the mold after he graduated med school. I'm convinced he has kept me out of a wheelchair. John is just a real stand up guy, not just a surgeon. He's a medical conservative. I trust him implicitly, and so should anyone who unfortunately requires his services.

Let me start off with saying that the level of professionalism in this clinic is just horrible. I suffered a lower back injury and visited Dr Gieseke back in January. I was prescribed an MRI and after reviewing the results, we discussed my options and decided together that we will begin physical therapy treatment, with the option of maybe doing steroidal shots and even surgery down the road, if necessary. Then last week I re-aggravated the injury and reached out to the office. Little did I know that Dr Gieseke had retired in February. So not only did the office refer me to a doctor they knew was retiring a few weeks later, but they also didnt inform me that he had retired.
