Dr. Tanko has been my family’s veterinarian for over thirty years, caring for every pet i have ever had. He’s a skilled and compassionate professional who always puts animals first. He has never been one to push unnecessary treatments or tests. Over the years, he’s treated my dogs and cats with patience and respect. He’s the kind of vet who genuinely likes his patients, sometimes more than their humans, and it shows in the way animals respond to him. The office staff & vet techs are the most professional , knowledgeable & kindest I’ve ever known. If you’re looking for a vet who has experience , good instincts with genuine care for animals, he’s an excellent choice.

We started with Dr. Tanko when he first opened his practice in Boot Ranch so we have been with him for a very long time. Over the years we never hesitated to recommend My Pet Animal Hospital to friends and family, but that has all changed, not because of Dr. Tanko, but because of his front office staff. Over the more recent years his front office staff has become rude and condescending, which we initially overlooked believing the person was having a bad day. One incident occurred when we returned from a road trip and out 5 lb toy poodle developed diarrhea one the way home. I contacted My Pet Animal Hospital and was told they could not do anything until our pet was seen by the vet. They had all of his records and there was no attempt for any assistance. Great experience for a 1st visit. I came in recently for a checkup on a cat. I have a calico that does not handle the vet well. The whole staff was really nice and they did a great job with my difficult animal. The vet took his time to do a thorough exam since it was our 1st time there. We discussed options but nobody pushed any extra services or products.

Dr. Tanko is amazing with the animals and their owners. You can see he truly cares about animals. He takes the time to listen to the owner and works with you on the proper treatment. He is not like many other Vets that will just take a quick look and hand you a script and new dog food. When we had to put our dog down, I was so impressed at the caring he showed for him, and let me stay with him till I was ready to leave..

I’ve never been so impressed with a veterinarian office in my life. I found myself with a cat emergency on a Saturday- so I began calling offices close to me. Most of them were unavailable to help, but this office was ready to help. When I walked in the door, they knew who I was and why I was there. They took me directly to a room and began helping my cat immediately. The care and understanding I received as I processed the heartbreaking information they were giving me about the prognosis of my cat, was unmatched. I felt genuinely cared about and I feel that is the most important qualification of a vet clinic. I would recommend this office to anyone. They truly care.
