This place is wonderful well staffed! The entire team flows so well and they are funny for such a serious task working with a human heart. They made it very light hearted process for my almost 80 year old father! We enjoyed the food in the cafeteria they are very good humans though out the facility. We are from Myrtle Beach and was recommended from the emergency room to come here. My husband had open heart surgery by Dr. Witer. Let me tell you he is the most calming which is what I needed. The Dr. explained the whole procedure from beginning to end and what to expect afterwards. Hope you never need him but he is a gem. We owe our life to him.

I am from Spartanburg County, SC. My cardiologist saw me at Spartanburg Regional Trauma ER due to severe SOB after having a Mitral Valve Repair in 1981. He said there was nothing wrong. So I went for a 2nd opinion at MUSC. I was immediately given an Echo and told I needed a replacement done immediately. I had it done in 2008 and after went back to work on the ambulance as a Paramedic. They were very good to me while I was at this hospital and saved my life.
