I've seen Dr. Yap 2 years in a row and will continue to see her as long as I'm in the area! Her office is thorough and will pull up your insurance benefits before you come in so they can reference what is and isn't covered under your plan. She's friendly and patient with her exams and answering any questions that come up. The man who usually works the front desk seems to be a licensed optician so he can assist with glasses fittings if you want to walk in without an appointment to check out your options for frames. A great place to get your eyes checked!

Dr. Yap is simply the most competent optometrist I’ve ever found. It had been almost impossible to get me fitted for contact lenses at all previous optometrists. I sent years worth of contact lenses fitting record to Dr. Yap to analyze. She made a phone calls to a couple of manufacturers and boom, she found the perfect lenses for me, avoiding months of additional trial and error. She’s also thorough with navigating complex dual insurance policies. As for eye glasses, although there are only 3 walls of frames selection, which don’t seem much when you walk in, they are however EXACTLY what you need. For the past 10 years, I have been seeing Dr. Yap for my yearly eye exams and eye glasses. Dr. Yap is always professional, courteous, thorough and very caring. Even after all these years seeing her, she still explains each steps of exams. I think its really wise to find a good optometrist and stay with he or she. This way the optometrist will have all your records at one place to review and track your eyesight and eye health. I highly recommend Dr. Yap of ModernEyes Optometry in Belmont, Ca. Dr. Yap is the most kind human in Belmont. She remembers me every time I come in. She is also the absolute best optometrist I have ever had. I've seen people randomly for about 20 years. She is so professional and obviously excellent in her craft.

Dr Yap is a great optometrist. She first checked my eyes more than 10 years ago and made my glasses. It's prefect. I moved to east bay later and got my last glasses in Kaiser, which was terrible. I always fell dissy. So I went to see Dr. Yap again in Jan 2021 and she checked my eyes very carefully and found my Kaiser presicription was wrong. Right now I weared my new glasses for one weeknd feel so good. Her office is in Belmont. it's about an hour drive from my home in easy bay but definitely worth to drive.
