Modern Midwives

Modern Midwives has an incredible team of very knowledgeable and experienced midwives who made me feel comfortable and safe in their care! They also made me feel like a part of the family and continue to host groups and events at their offices that it is free for me to attend as a past client! I personally had Virginia as my midwife and she was so incredible on the day of my son’s birth! She came as soon as I asked her too and made me feel very taken care of and like I could do this no problem! I loved my experience with them and I will definitely be picking Modern again with my next pregnancy!

I am so thankful that I chose modern midwives. Investing in an amazing birth team was the greatest thing I could have done for this pregnancy. This experience compared to my first pregnancy (obgyn/hospital route) could not feel more opposite. There was so much peace and joy this time and I am so thankful that I got to experience birth in this way. Throughout pregnancy,birth,and postpartum, I felt so supported. I loved that I was able to bring my older daughter along to all of my prenatal appointments and how comfortable she felt in their office. These are memories that will stay with me forever. I also love that Olivia hosts pregnancy and postpartum groups there-an amazing resource to the community. I am so grateful to Modern midwives for a beautiful homebirth experience.

To be strong and wise doesn’t mean one has to be loud and visible. Modern midwives embodies this. Care along the way was thorough and thoughtful. They have a fierce presence during delivery, while fading into the background. Their patient and gentle ability allows a sacred birth story to unfold. For our birth, I felt they knew when to provide encouragement and advice, and they were prepared had we needed greater assistance or to transfer to a hospital. Working with Modern Midwives was better than we could’ve imagined! From simply switching over from a traditional OB at 20 weeks and enjoying the comfort of how inviting and calming their office was, to the birth itself and the postpartum checkups, we have nothing but positive words to say. We always had every question answered during the pregnancy and our home birth was a magical experience and we felt so supported by the midwife, student midwife, and nurse we had on site. I was so happy to get to have a home birth with Modern Midwives. All the midwives were so supportive my whole pregnancy and Maya and Lizzy especially were so kind to me during my sons birth. They really encouraged me to get into comfortable positions and helped guide me the whole time. My husband has recommended Modern Midwives to all of his friends who are having babies and has said so many times how great it was that the midwives always explained things, why different symptoms happen and how to help. I was a bit sad when my last appointment came because I knew I’d miss seeing them; it really felt like making friends through our experience.
