Modern Eye

I love this place! They always do a great job with my exam, and they make ordering glasses, appointments—all the things— really easy. Really nice glasses to choose from, and the doctor does such a great job with kids, too! They see my 7-year-old and it’s her favorite type of Dr’s appointment, and one of the only Dr’s that she feels comfortable with. Definitely go there!

Modern Eye Optical is a cute boutique optical practice, conveniently located (for me) in downtown Dayton. Dr. Elizabeth Eckhart is incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and makes you feel completely at ease during your exam. The staff is welcoming, the service is top-notch, and they have an extensive selection of frames and contacts! Taking most insurances, Modern Eye offers a monthly (for fee) vision plan for those who desire secondary insurance, under insured, or need vision insurance.

Dr. Eckhart is an outstanding doctor, and one who practices with communication, patience, and kindness. I’ve seen her exclusively for several years and would recommend her to anyone. I have even greater appreciation for her after today’s appointment where she spent a long time with me teaching me how to put in and take out contact lenses. She is one of a kind and I am grateful to have her as my eye doctor.

I thought the service was excellent. The doctor explained everything as she went through each procedure. The assistant was very helpful helping me pick out glass frames. I’m so glad my daughter recommended this practice to me. Now I would like to give the same great advice to all…need eye work??? Go to Modern Eye

I went here and liked her old equipment that she said was still accurate. Cute unique shop with older traditional equipment to diagnose. Her diagnosis was much different than the original doctor I went to. She seemed accurate, but a year later I needed much stronger glasses that the original doctor said. Also, she wasn’t the most understanding or charismatic doctor. The assistant kept my glasses case, and the owner said they don’t keep them and I’m crazy pretty much in so many tones for thinking they had it ;). The assistant called me next day and said she mistakingly kept my case, as I know she did. I wasn’t a fan of the doctor/owner. Not very understanding and a bit judgmental of people. I would never go back.
