MissionCare at Bennington

I have just transitioned my brother to Mission Care. He is 58 with early onset Alzheimer's. It has been very challenging for him of course, but he seems to be adjusting well to life at Mission Care. One of the things i really like about this facility is that they have a lot of activities. The staff is very thorough, caring and responsive. I will post again after he has been there for a while.

Staff/Management/Social Services provide extremely low follow up to no follow up with patient representatives questions/concerns. Never or infrequently return phone calls. Fail to provide needed care updates on resident health and or concerns about inadequate services. Staff promises to improve communication via email, phone or letter. The situation still fails to improve. *Since this is the only way I can respond to the “Owner” is by editing my post here goes.* I’m my brother’s “Durable Power of Attorney.” I have his permission to speak with everyone involved in his care. It’s unfortunate that I have to post on your blog to receive any type of response. It’s obvious from your response it’s generic. No attempt to reach out to me.*

My aunt has been a patient at this facility for 4+ years following a large stroke. She has been fortunate to have been under the excellent care of several nurses (Christina, Wendy and others) who have kept me updated on her status when I visit and by phone with any pertinent changes. Nancy, in the financial office, was very helpful in guiding me through the Medicaid application process for my aunt ( a daunting experience). The facility's response to the Covid pandemic was rapid and precise, resulting in very few residents developing Covid. I would have liked to have seen a greater percentage of staff vaccinated though (which is my primary reason for a 4 star vs 5 star rating). My family and I are very appreciative for all the care that the staff on her floor have provided her.

All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They made my mother feel welcome right away. I’m so glad that I had my mother transferred here!

Although the exterior looked rather old, the interior was very modern. The staff was friendly and the facility was clean and neat. It was refreshing to see such a well kept environment. And it was nice to know, if I were to need care there, it would be a nice place to go!
