This hospital just gets worse and worse. Now that they have that supposed mutual respect thing, the nurses use that as their weapon against patients and their visitors. If you speak up and defend yourself, no foul language, no threatening, dont even raise your voice, right away its oh if you keep talking to me like that i will have security come and remove you.. SO DO NOT THINK THIS "MUTUAL RESPECT" THING IS MEANT TO BENEFIT ANYONE BUT THEM.. They will talk down to you, speak to you anyway they choose and if you speak back they will turn it around on you and threaten to have you removed.. Just another way for Hartford Healthcare, Midstate to be exact, to mistreat/speak down to patients and their family members and cover their butts while doing so. Don't set foot in this place if you ever want to get out. A family member with well-controlled schizophrenia ended up here with pneumonia. Circumstances aggravated it, making it difficult to give them meds. So they STOPPED GIVING THEM. I tried to move her to affiliated Hartford Hospital with The Institute For Living, but they refused, saying the doctors at MidState said she'd be fine. And REFUSED TO TALK TO HER FAMILY. After 2 months of a downward spiral, including contracting COVID, they literally NEGLECTED HER TO DEATH. They thought she was "ready to go home," but she died just 5 days later, still in their "care."

I had gall bladder removal surgery and had a wonderful experience. The staff have amazing bedside manner. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly, kind, and informative.

Wife had surgery there. Wonderful experience! Doctors and surgeons were great. My wife stayed on pavilion A room 7 . The Nurses and Aides that took care of her were unbelievable! The whole staff was very attentive and comforting! I can’t say enough good things about our experience at Mid State. Pavilion A is full of Rock Stars! Thank you very much for taking care of my wife.
