Dr. Mistretta is an outstanding physician! He really cares about his patients — will let you know if you are worrying for no reason or there is a problem. Talks very straight but also very kind. I have been using him since 2007 and wouldn’t trade him for the world. I left him for a period of maybe a year which I only cancelled one appt with him but another doctor thought someone else was a more experienced sarcoidosis MD and were at a teaching hospital, blah, blah, so I went but after 3 visits was like this guy is not right and the funny was, the doctor that referred me there agreed and said he wouldn’t send anyone else there again due to his attitude and general demeanor to him and me. So thank goodness that was over, and I now wouldn’t change for anything. I hope he doesn’t retire an

I visited Dr Mistetta’s office on February 7, 2023. At that point I was unable to do my daily run or climb stairs without being short of breath. He sent me home with a diuretic. In less than 24 hours my husband drove me to Henrico Drs. Emergency room, severely hypoxic, needing drains placed in both lungs and my heart, and had a talc pleuodesis procedure. I spent 11 days in ICU. The bill for my office visit with Dr Mistretta was $546.

Dr. Mistretta is absolutely amazing! I am a lung cancer survivor (4 years remission). I experienced a severe case of coughing up blood. I saw Dr. Mistretta on a Monday, and on Tuesday he had me scheduled for a broncoscopy that day, and on Thursday he had me scheduled for surgery, which so far has been successful. He has always taken great care of me. I would highly recommend him!! He is kind, to the point and an exceptional doctor!!
