Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital

This is the worst hospital I've ever seen. I moved to this town and regret it. The hospital is prehistoric to say the least. The level of service in the emergency room is terrible. The lack of urgency is wild. I came there for an emergency and there were no parking spots. Not because of cars but just blocked. I rush in for the emergency and everyone was just in slow motion. By the time anyone said anything or made any moves it was just to say move my car. No help. No urgency. Nobody got the doctor. Just nothing. I had to park in the back of the building and walk back around to the emergency section. Then waited forever. This place needs to be shut down

Would give 0 stars if possible. They made my dad sit in the emergency room for 8 hours with an active brain bleed. Then tried sending him by ambulance to St.Marys (a 40 minute drive ON A GOOD DAY by the way) because they were not equipped to handle it. When we fought to have him airlifted to Jefferson (a good 15 minutes away) the doctor said, “I hope you’re happy. This is time sensitive” well if you cared about it being time sensitive you wouldn’t let him sit for 8 hours and then make him go through another 40 minutes to get to another CRAP hospital.. completely incompetent. Nurses and security guards are great. Doctors seem to have gotten their degrees from a cereal box.

⭐ If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was by far the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. I went to the emergency room after being exposed to gas. They took my blood and told me to wait in the lobby. I waited over two hours without anyone calling my name. I eventually had to go up to the desk and ask if I would ever be seen. A few minutes later, they finally called me back — only for a nurse to tell me they tested my blood for the wrong thing and needed to take it again. After that, I waited another hour just to get a room. Every time a nurse walked by, I asked if a doctor would be seeing me soon, and no one gave me a clear answer. When I was finally seen, the doctor told me everything “looked fine” and that I could leave. I explained that I was still having trouble

The bathrooms in this hospital smell like rotten cootch! And dirty as hell! Walked in to pee. Couldn't do it so washed my hands. In there less than 2 mins and the smell in that restroom stuck to my clothing/gown and had to get a whole new pair. 🤣 I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this hospital! If you can't keep a bathroom clean, you can't keep anything else clean either!

My daughter has Trisomy 21. She asked me to call Emergency Fitz. They were prompt and accomodated with stretcher. 24 hour in ER but thoroughly taken care of for sepsis. Total review of medical and social history. Given clean room on my quiet wing. I can't be more grateful to Mercy in Darby. No discrimination.
