Merchants Way Dental Care

I am formally expressing concern regarding a serious patient identity and privacy issue involving Merchant’s Way Dental. I received a billing statement for a visit I did not have, despite not being a patient at this practice for years. Upon contacting the office, I was told that I “have a name similar to another patient.” This explanation raises significant concerns regarding patient verification procedures, record management, and the safeguarding of protected health information. Proper identity confirmation is a fundamental responsibility of any healthcare provider. Issuing billing statements tied to the wrong individual suggests a breakdown in administrative controls and raises questions about compliance with HIPAA privacy standards. For my first time at the dentist here in Florida, they were very thorough. Taking x-rays and checking everything out. I’m a little disappointed I have to return to have my teeth cleaned, but it’ll be well worth the trip. The office staff and dentist and hygienist are friendly and top-notch. Glad I chose them.

By far the worst experience ever. If I could give them a zero I would. I’ve waited a week since the visit to see if there would be some follow up on their part to even acknowledge or apologize for this experience, none. I was a first time customer, I was paired with a new dental assistant who was very kind but not fully trained. She was my primary care person for the day and had to get assistance or redo every step of the way. Then the unconcerned dental hygienist comes in, and tells me of the first time I may not get a cleaning today depending on her exam of me. She pokes around, tells me I require a deeper cleaning but that no additional time for the cleaning is necessary it’s the same process. So I asked if I was able to get the cleaning today, and she nonchalantly said no, but we have

I wish I knew years ago about this place and how good Merchants Way is. The receptionist’s in the front office are so nice and friendly. More importantly the dentists and dental hygienist that I have are the most professional and down to earth people you could come across. A special shoutout to my own dental hygienist Rachael O’Rourke for the true professional you are. I can’t think of anywhere else that I would recommend but Merchants Way for all your dental needs.

I had an amazing experience with Merchants Dental! Everything was explained thoroughly and clearly from start to finish so I felt comfortable and confident throughout my visit. Lizzie went above and beyond to ensure my experience was as smooth as possible. She took the time to answer every question in detail, leaving no room for confusion, and made sure I felt at ease every step of the way. This billing and scheduling process went smooth as well. It’s ALWAYS so warm and welcoming here and I never had a bad experience. I truly appreciate the genuine care and effort they put into making my visit stress-free. Highly recommend!
