I had aortic valve replacement at this hospital, which literally almost killed me. The surgeon knicked an artery and I ended up needing 15 units of blood, plus many units of different blood products. A 5-6 hour surgery, turned out to be 10. The reception person at the pre-op center for the surgery was very rude to me when I came in. Then continually was rude to my mother throughout the process. 2nd shift came on, same thing. This person actually refused to call back to operating room for an update after several hours of waiting. In addition, the surgeon didnt come see me at the hospital until 3 days later. I had to get upset and literally said, this surgeon almost killed me and he cant get down here and face me. Then during my ICU stay, I still had a breathing tube and chest tubes, so the

Some parts will have a kind of run down look especially in the ER, however the staff are friendly and work urgently to assist those in need. My friend was worked out for stroke here and less than three hours. I am in the medical profession and I was a very impressed. They made good decisions with the information they had.

This is the first time we’ve been to or even heard of this hospital and I can honestly say it’s been the best hospital experience I’ve had so far in my lifetime. My mom was transferred to the heart and vascular center from over 5 hours away and we didn’t know what to expect being from out of town. Dr. Smalling and his staff have treated my mother with the upmost care, dignity and respect. We are extremely grateful for their service and everything they’ve done for her. Everyone at this hospital has been very helpful, kind and caring. I wish i could leave a 0 star review. The doctors barely come by, communication is a joke, and the administration is equally disappointing. After multiple surgeries, I never saw my primary doctor and only saw a licensed doctor 3 times in the month I was there. I was constantly being thrust towards someone new, who I had to ask if they were even doctors. They ignored and dismissed my concerns, had no idea what was going on, constantly rotated me to people who had no clue what they were doing, the doctors were rude, negligent, and this was absolutely the worst hospital I've ever been at. The housekeeping staff functioned with more integrity and dedication than the people they have posing as doctors there. Hospital from hell, especially the HVI.
