I hate It here. I have sickle cell and every time I come I’m waiting 10+ hours to be seen! I was told “If you can walk then you’re perfectly fine”. The wait time here is beyond ridiculous. There is more than enough staff to take care of everyone accordingly. The staff is rude and careless. No reason i should have sat here and watched 50 people go back before me while I just sit here and wait. It’s sad that sickle cell is no longer an emergency but a scrapped knee is. Shut this hospital down and restaff. Memorial is the worst. I’m currently writing this at 10:02pm, I got here at 12pm
By far the best staff. Every one of the nurses and doctors are very nice. My wife just had our baby Friday and they have been taking very good care of my wife and our baby thats in the nicu. They're always checking on my wife every 30 minutes or so to make sure she's ok. One nurse even got my wife's Facebook so that she can keep in touch and see the baby grow up. Every nurse and doctor have the best attitude.
Do NOT have your baby here. The old male dr is rude and condescending but that doesn't even touch how vile the nurse is. I want to say holly but i will find out and file a formal complaint. The treatment she gave me was borderline mental abuse. She was so undermining. Every choice I made she had something to say. I really wanted to try natural and straight from the drop shes essentially calling me stupid. I really did not want Pitocin but they more or less threatened cps if i didn't because i was "putting my baby in distress" mind you there were absolutely no signs of distress baby was being monitored and contractions were just very mild. The nurse calls in the dr bcs she says i wont listen to her the dr repeats everything the nurse just said and i say but as the patient isnt it my choice.
My grandfather had a triple by pass surgery today. Everything went very well, doctors and nurses were super nice. We got an update roughly every 3/4 hours on his 7 hour surgery, which we appreciated so much!!. We are very thankful for the staff, care, and kindness we received while in the cardiac observation area!! The ONLY complaint I have is that we weren’t warned about the condition he would be in after surgery for that visitation. We weren’t warned that he was on a ventilator, lying there basically looking lifeless, as if he were in a coma.. It was disappointing, my grandmother dang near fainted and had to have someone wheelchair her out of there. Half of the family wouldn’t have agreed to see him like that. Husband took me to ER this Christmas Eve morning. I was having a severe asthma attack due to sinus drainage. I had been following medical protocol I had been taught, but was missing a key ingredient, steroids. Even though I could hardly speak to explain everything, they 'got it'. I was immediately taken to a room, The nurse, Lilian and her student nurse jumped into action. I was given an EKG, then right to X-ray.. Needle inserted for IV, a nebulizer treatment by then the lady doctor came in to speak to us. Im sorry I do not remember her name, She was excellent. She was very calming to my husband, which really helped! She was very good explaining I had done everything right, I just needed some help. She was very reassuring and knowledgeable.
