Medilodge of Sterling Heights

about 2 1/2 weeks ago, my brother-in-law was admitted to Medilodge Of Sterling Heights. On the time of his admission, he was very weak disoriented and basically just a very sad mess. Over his stay at Medilodge He has become more stronger more sociable and working on his way to return to better health to return to his home. During his stay there I was able to speak with the social worker Deidra and I believe that I’met an angel. This person went completely out of her way to help my brother-in-law with a much needed agenda that we were thinking that there was no way this is going to be Accomplish . Miss Deidra Took it upon herself to make things happen for him he was able to get what he needed and it was a relief to him and the family members that this was able to be done . Every time that

Worse nursing home in Michigan do not take you loved ones here. they do not take care of you they think they know everything. They don’t listen to you when you tell them something and then your loved one ends up in hospital every two weeks stay away from this place.they don’t clean place smells bad nurses walk around with they’re air pods on their ears all day listen to music you asked for a nurse they tell you she or he it’s on break every time you ask for them you wait your show up an hour later for them to tell you that your mom or your dad is fine, which is not and then end up in the hospital next day. if I could, I would give it zero stars.

This review is strictly on the Activities team. I have been here for 2 years now and enjoy the vatiery of activities that are offered for the residents. Some of the regulars are bingo, arts and crafts, birthday celebrations (monthly), card games, movie and freshly popped popcorn as well as live entertainment from time to time. During summer they have barbecues, they've had car shows, a petting zoo. If you can't find an activity that you like one day, you'll likely find one the next. The staff, all led by Terry and Beverly are top notch!

My dad stayed here in Spring 2025 for several weeks. He kept declining and I spoke with staff and management. I had this intuition that something wasn't right- I know my dad and he is usually feisty. They kept minimizing my concerns such as "when do we consider a feeding tube?", "when do we send him back to the hospital?" etc. They waited until it was too late and he ended up transferring to the hospital in septic and cardiogenic shock. Patient to nurse ratio was unsafe. He went to the ICU where he later passed away. Staff bias allowed this place to fail my father. When he's in rehab, nobody works harder than him (if he is not septic). He hated being at a facility and would do anything to get out. This is a review of Deidra Marshall, social worker; she is most helpful and appreciated! She assisted my family with paperwork and counsel for a resident family member. She went over and above the standard level of care by making herself available to a family new to navigating nursing home care, responding promptly and empathetically to phone calls and emails, and being present and supportive on site.
