McLaren Northern Michigan

I came to the emergency department with an insane migraine that had defied all medications I used for it. The staff were all incredible. Check-in was fast and pleasant—same for triage. My complaints were addressed swiftly and with the upmost care. I went through about three nurse shift changes in my stay at the ER, and all of them were pleasant and took great care of me. I felt that my treatment and comfort was important to them, and that hospital room started to feel pretty cozy despite the pain. The doctor that dealt with my migraine was also incredible, and he gave me actual treatment options and refused to let me say, "Just do whatever you think is best." I ended up opting for a CT and MRI since this was one of the worst migraines I've ever experienced, and the doc went ahead with it.

Even though they forgot me when it came time for meals, the food was very good when received. And even though I had to spend the night in the ER because there is not sufficient staff for hospital rooms, my one night stay was good. Not excellent, but good. The staff was very good and very willing to accommodate me in a difficult time. I have no complaints.

I was extremely nervous about my 5 year old having surgery but the or team was amazing! I couldn’t ask for a better experience! My daughter was very comfortable and the creativity the or team used to make it less stressful for her was a blessing!! I highly recommend this hospital for any children who need a procedure done!

The ladies in the registration department are very professional, friendly and welcoming. The process is very smooth and easy. The technician for my MRA was also very professional, welcoming, and accommodating to meet my needs. I appreciate everyone as they make the experience of going to the hospital so much better! I also take time to enjoy the artwork displays portraying the lovely northern Michigan sceneries!! It makes the visits relaxing! Thank you for all the efforts put into the displays!!

First of all, how long are people going to tolerate the horrendous, lack of compassion, short staffing,, cleanliness, or lack of rather, but most of all the dangerous care that our family members are getting. Unfortunately, it is the only game should I say in the area so people are afraid to speak up if you look at the replies from each person‘s review, it is a typed same reply for everyone there’s absolutely no human input at all into the replies or “ We are sorry you’re disappointment”. Quotation. Our son, has almost died at Mclaren, Northern Michigan, because of the lack of staffing, knowledge of the staff, and care for the patient. They need to be reported to the state of Michigan. What I don’t understand is why patients from the north side of the Mackinac Bridge are brought to Mclaren
