Visited the cancer treatment center. My sister's husband was getting his last treatment. He got to ring the bell. I was very happy to be there for that. My mother and one of my siblings also received treatments here. They definitely are there for their patients. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone.

McLaren often gets a bad rap when I hear people talk about it but my experience has all been good. I had a family member in over Covid, and they recieved very good care. Good physical and mental support. I've been in and out for the last 7 months now, and they have been exceptional. The PET staff are very kind and friendly, as well as the check-in staff. The oncology department has also been very helpful [shout out to Dr. Connolly here]. The infusion girls go over and beyond to make sure I have what I need. I had a mediocre CAT experience but haven't seen that staff member since. Overall, I am very satisfied.

I’m only sharing about a recent experience with the hospital itself. Our doctors are with McLaren and we are well pleased with them all. But the hospital, itself, leaves a lot to be desired. Very much understaffed in the inpatient hospital….very little attention paid to each patient. My husband, who just had hip fracture and repair, and in a lot of pain, wasn’t given pain meds on a regular basis and gotten up to sit in a chair and was left there from 10:00 am til 4pm with no one checking on him or moving him back to bed. Most,of the nurses were sweet when they were there….but that was not often. I know they are short-staffed….but that is no excuse for giving such poor care. They need to solve this…maybe not take so many patients…it was full! He’s in a better rehab place now.

Beware of their miss "coding" - 4 years in a row I have had to fight for hours with insurance because the staff cannot code correctly. I go in for a physical (Dr. Ismond) and they always mark it as something different. Is it on purpose to get paid more through my insurance and hoping I won't notice and pay as well? I have grown not to trust anything associated with McLaren.

Got a paper in the mail saying my personal information was stolen by a hacker after being seen at McLaren. I've had a continuous infection since last year due to a PA here cutting me open and then saying she didn't feel comfortable continuing and then NOT properly packing or bandaging the incision, and then she only prescribed me HALF the antibiotics I was supposed to be given. It took talking to 3 different people in the emergency department before I actually spoke to a doctor who corrected the PA's original prescription mistake. Taking antibiotics wrong can end up killing people because they become immune to the bacteria and eventually the person dies because of the resistance of the super-bactria that it creates.
