Customer Reviews
He is the absolute Best surgeon. I've known him since 2003. He has done three back surgeries on me. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my back but him. He's an amazing surgeon. Great personality easy to talk to. He say's he's not a plastic surgeon. But I've had 19 surgeries in total. All the surgeries he didn't do. You can see the thick crooked bumpy very noticeable scars. The three back surgeries he did on me. You can't even tell I've had three back surgeries. Straight line so thin. That is very important to me. No one wants ugly thick scars. I refer him to everyone I know with back problems. He's the best!
Dr. Phillips did minimally outpatient surgery to cauterize the L 4-5 disc and filed a bone spur pressing on a nerve. I had been in debilitating lower back and sciatic pain for months. Dr. Phillips had me leaving the recovery room two hours later, pain free. A little tender 1 inch incision, but to me it was a miracle. I have severe spinal stenosis but this minor piece of surgery was a God send. I am bringing my 85 yr old sister here from Indiana to see if he is able to remediate a similar situation. Phillips is very gifted. I thank him every day in my mind for turning my life around. L.. Macomber.
After struggling cognitively for months, losing my hearing in one ear and various other symptoms that culminated last Christmas Eve when I became incoherent, losing my ability to speak. I was brought by rescue to Charlton Memorial and then to St Luke’s in New Bedford. Somehow I was blessed to have Dr Philips be my neurosurgeon. He informed me that I had large mass on my left frontal lobe. My wife and parents were able to speak w the Dr and he definitely gained their confidence. He is passionate, detailed and confident in his ability. I went into surgery a few days later. It was a seven hour surgery to remove the tumor. Every single symptom that I was dealing with has been resolved by his work. He fully restored my quality of life. He’s the Tom Brady of neurosurgeons in my eyes. Forever Gr
Dr. Phillips and Matthew, PA, as well as the entire office staff, had excellent bedside manners, an assertive & appropriate treatment plan, and communicative service. I had a severe herniation causing debilitating pain, loss of sensation, a limp, and at 34 years old, spent the better part of 3 months walking with a cane and in such excruciating pain that I couldn’t sleep in my own bed (and instead in a pile of pillows on the couch). Within one appointment with Matthew, the PA, he took a look at my MRI, pulled Dr. Phillips into the exam room, and they offered me a microdiscectomy and told me that at this point in my injury (going on 3 months) this surgery could really benefit me. I had surgery yesterday and already I have feeling in my leg that I was told may take up to a year to come bac
I was brought by ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital in August thinking I had a back injury and I was extremely swollen because I hadn't laid down flat in a month. That was not the case, I actually had an infection that was eating my spine and Dr. Philips said by the time I got to the hospital the only thing holding me together actually was my ribcage and my spinal cord. I couldn't, walk, stand or take care of myself anymore. 3 of my vertebrae had been compromised. He told me had to operate right then and there and he didn't know if I would ever walk again. The surgery took 7 hours. He had to scrape out the infection and put a rod in my spine. When I opened my eyes right after the surgery Dr. Philips was right there giving me the thumbs up and told me the surgery couldn't have gone better! Eac
