Mather Hospital

On Thursday the 12 of March my wife talked me into going to Mather hospital emergency room because of severe stomach pain. By the time I arrived I was hurting and nauseous. As a 66 year old who has a long history of surgeries and health issues i hate emergency rooms. Not because of staff but I feel ridiculous going when others are much sicker. Mathers new ER is beautiful and clean. I was taken into a room within a half hour and the intake staff was amazing. The ER DR Christopher Driscoll and PA Igor Lizogubenko and nurses and staff treated me like I mattered and took my health as their first priority. Testing takes time and as patients we have to understand that. They explained every step and tests along the way. Within a hour I was pain free and comfortable. I am so very thankful for the

Mather Hospital did such a great job on my outpatient Breast Surgery February 10, 2026. I was treated like a queen there , and every single person was friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in to the security guards to the end when I walked out. I especially have a shout out to Kaitlyn and Lauren. Once again, I have been to many hospitals, but Mather Hospital is the most outstanding. I am so grateful and thankful to everyone there. And I can’t think of anything they could’ve done to improve their service because it was better than perfect!!

My mother was brought to Mather ER five months ago with "stroke like symptoms." The nurses and staff were attentive and courteous but coordination between the ER, neurology or cardiac departments fell below expectations. We found ourselves saying "the doctor who was just here told us..." A doctor, who seemed to be the lead for first year doctors, ordered additional testing and admitted my mother for further observation and care. Over the course of about a week, the same doctor met with us several times (with/out her students) and determined that my mother was ready to be discharged to rehab. The following day I received a call from another doctor who was covering for the initial doctor. He asked if I was aware of all the test results. I went directly to the hospital and met with him

Mather hospitals emergency department is absolutely disgusting. Went in sat in the waiting for for 2 hours. Then put in a room where not even the nurse came in once. The phlebotomist came in after 4 hours to draw blood. I ask the nurse at the counter for a urine cup since the hospital didn’t do their job. Nope the nurses are counting money from there bags. I work south Bronx ems and never have I seen something like this. Then the nurse got an attitude for asking them to do there job. A new emergency for what? And I better not get a damn bill to the insurance

Dashawn Taylor a nursing assistant at Mather is a wonderful young man. Dashawn shows empathy for his patients. Dashawn checks on his patients frequently. Ensuring all their questions are answered, as well making them comfortable. I work with the Mentally , and physical disabilities population. Dashawn was amazing talking to my client explaining what he was doing at all times. I don’t want to go to Mather Hospital. However if I do always I will ask if Mr. Dashawn Taylor. ER nursing assistant is on shift. Thank you Dashawn for all that you do continue to do. Hoping you continue your education in the health field.
