Dr. Shekhman performed a total knee replacement of my right knee in March of 2024. I was very afraid to have this operation. He gave me other options that I could try first. Over the span of 10 years my knee joint started pushing out to the side when I walked making my leg look bow-legged and causing pain and a lot of difficulty walking. Dr. Shekhman was very understanding and assured me he could correct this and that after surgery my leg would be straight again. He did a fabulous job! I feel 10 years younger after having the replacement. He is a very caring and encouraging doctor and I would highly recommend him. His staff is also very understanding and caring.

Dr. Mark Shekhman is a 5 plus star doctor! He is an extraordinarily competent and kind orthopedist. He not only listened to me - he "heard" me and accommodated my individual needs. I had a long overdue need for a hip replacement. Dr. Shekhman performed the surgery. I'm 79 years old and sure that Dr.Shekhman's skill and concern for me facilitated my rapid rehabilitation process: Two weeks post surgery I was walking without a cane and had no hip pain. Within 4 weeks I had full use of my hip. Dr Shekhman performed my surgery at the Bone & Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital which also deserves 5 plus stars. He surrounds himself and his patients with kind, competent support staff. Dr. Shekhman is the BEST!
