Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

The staff seemed wonderful, and the food was ok. My mother in law stayed there a weeks after a fall. My father-in-law and I were disenchanted by the care tho.. no gait belts, she was there for a fall, and was unsteady getting up from the wheelchair. They sent her home, untrained, she's only been home less than one day, and she's already gone rogue, so to speak. Her husband was there almost daily and saw how unsteady she was. There was no positive reinforcement on correcting unsafe habits. They expected him to do it.. of course she's not going to listen to him. He's no qualified! They were going to charge him an extra day because it was not safe to bring her home(we live in the suburbs on a steep wooded hill). They suggested a chair bus with people.. we agreed, because she would have help b

My dad is currently in the rehab section of Maristhill. The nurses, CNAs, therapist are all lovely. Food is ok and my family and I are bringing in potatoes and squash because what they are serving for dinner is not so good(I tried several times myself). He is currently recovering from pneumonia but he has macular degeneration; I asked if I could bring in his television which is twice the size of his current tv in the room. The current tv gets poor reception and remote is very hard to manage. I was just told it’s “policy” that he would not be able to have his own tv there because of the bandwidth? And size? I told the acting social worker tv is a pedestal would fit fine and he would not be so depressed if he could watch his own tv vs no tv. He’s 91 and asks for very little, the least

My dad was in Maristhill for a few months after he had a severe stroke. The rehab staff was great and worked very diligently but unfortunately, dad's stroke was too severe for improvement. Hospice care began, which was also very excellent. Dad transitioned peacefully and he is in a better place now. I have the highest recommendation for Maristhill with absolutely no reservations at all.

My mother in law just recently spent several days at Marist Hill Rehab . They were working with her to get her stronger to face another round of chemo . The nurses and the Drs. as well as the PT dept. and the aides took wonderful care of her , being very attentive to her needs . Unfortunately during her stay she succumb to the nasty disease . On behalf of my family , I would like to thank the entire staff for taking such good care of her .

My dad had to go to for rehab after a broken hip, and I found Maristhill strictly by chance, and we are so happy I did. During my dad’s stay, we met so many nice and caring people. From PT/OT and speech therapy, who were so patient and encouraging, to the nurses and CNA’s, who cared compassionately for my dad day/night. As an added benefit, he had a private room, as all do in short term rehab, that was clean and nice. A big thank you to all those we crossed paths with during his stay. I hope there is not a need for rehab again, but if there were, I would def go back to Maristhill.
