Mad River Veterinary Hospital

Even though I was not a current client at MRVH, they were kind enough to take care of my dog when she took a rapid decline on Christmas day and needed to be euthanized the next day. Most vets were closed (including my normal vet) or would not see us. MRVH made time to take care of my dog at her end of life. They were extremely caring and professional during this hard time. I have since changed my vet services to their group and have had my second dog seen for her yearly checkup and shots. Once again they did a great job and were very caring in the way they took care of my pet. I would recommend this vet practice to anyone that needs a caring, professional team to care for their pet.

They worked with me to schedule my cat’s appointment urgently with my limited schedule. I was honest about my financial situation, and they worked with me on a treatment plan that both met my limitations, and met my cats needs. They never shamed me. Their prices are also transparent, and reasonable.

I had the unfortunate first visit here to get a second opinion. My brother went to school with Dr. Nikki, and reccomended me here to see her. She immediately found the cancer in my pup that the vet in New Carlisle just ignored in his bloodwork, and was very kind and transparent and showed me every thing they did. We chose to have him euthanized here and it was a very peaceful experience, even though it was very hard. We will be bringing our other pets here for care from now on. I trust Dr. Nikki with everything.

After six years of taking our animals here, I am no longer comfortable trusting Mad River with there care, after multiple negative experiences. The final straw was picking up my cat from a routine dental cleaning to find him and his crate absolutely soaked in urine (pictures included). Nothing was mentioned of his state during the post-op handoff with the vet tech. When we called to complain about this issue, we were told it was because "he's an aggressive cat," which is completely untrue. I have, in fact, had multiple vets and one emergency vet exclaim on how chill and easygoing he is. It was clear that my poor cat had been placed in his crate and given minimal if any care until I picked him up. I’ve been bringing my dogs here for years and it is always great! However, today the two girls that gave my puppy his shots were amazing!! The way they comforted him 💗 was so sweet. Thank you
