Luxor at Mills Pond Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

First of all I have to state my thanks to Avi, Andrew, my physical, and Courtney the one good RN I experienced at LUXOR, as well as a handful of aides. Other than the fact that Dr Patel most certainly almost killed me with an overdose, which is well documented at St Catherine's hospital after I signed myself out AMA. If I had not left, I most certainly would have died. Eli, I fully intend on coming to LUXOR, with a witness, to have you show me your Dr Patel's medical license and her records for her medical schooling which is quite visibly on the walls of every other physician I have personally reviewed online before I consider going to them . I recently finished a 2 and a half week stay at Luxor at Mills Pond, following 5 weeks in the hospital as I recovered from abdominal surgery, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results and the experience. Many staff contributed to my my increased mobility and wellness during my stay. Greeting me, as I arrived in the early evening was Avi, the concierge. As I had missed dinner. Avi tried to get me some dinner from the kitchen. They did bring food up to my room, but it wasn't to my liking. Avi ordered out via food delivery, and got me a burger and fries from a nearby Shake Shake. That act of kindness went a long way with me. Avi would see me in the halls, stopped by my room, and he always asked how I was doing, or if there was something he could do to help. That very same 1st ev

First impressions count and this one was great. The facility is very clean. Activities and goals for the patient are clear and explained at the outset. A concierge was an incredibly nice touch and gave the feeling of an upscale facility which it definitely is. I have a good feeling this will be a great stay for my mothers eventual return to independence.

My mother stayed at this rehab and we did have some difficulties with this stay but overall Luxor is much better than other facilities. Marjorie was outstanding with my mom. They do keep the facility clean overall. Some staff need better bed side manners and others are very nice. Luxor is actually the better of the facilities after seeing what others look like. This place is actually the ritz Carlton compared to others.

If your loved one has dementia, I would strongly urge you to reconsider placing them in this rehab facility. We selected Luxor based on its 5-star Medicare rating, but our experience—particularly within the dementia unit—was profoundly alarming. My father, who had Alzheimer’s disease, was initially discharged here and placed on the first floor. After staff realized he sometimes wandered, he was moved to the “locked unit.” However, the main entry to this unit was not actually locked. On his first night, staff found my father near the elevator due to the unsecured door and placed an alarm bracelet on him. The third-floor dementia unit was entirely different from the rest of the facility. It was severely understaffed, often dirty, and had the look and feel of a neglected psychiatric ward. P
