I recently had a two-part surgery, and from start to finish I was extremely nervous — but every single person I encountered at Long Island Jewish completely put me at ease. The level of care I received was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the wonderful lady who scanned me and my partner in was so welcoming and kind. She guided us through the ramp area and helped set the tone for a calm, smooth experience. The C100 check-in team was just as amazing — efficient, friendly, and made the entire check-in process stress-free. I was then picked up by my pre-op nursing team, and they were all so lovely, patient, and thorough. They explained everything, made sure I felt safe, and were so gentle and reassuring during a very anxious moment. Dr. Nik, the anesthesiologist, the OR nurses,

My 97 year old grandmother was taken here by ambulance recently for chest pain. I live about an hour away so it was a bit disconcerting to not be able to be there with her. While her wait was long in the ER, she said all staff were attentive. She was eventually moved to the CCU and her nurses have been wonderful; they communicated information well to me and even helped sort out some confusion regarding her emergency contacts. She has had no complaints thus far regarding her stay.

I was not the best patient, I was irritable and hard to deal with, however the staff there was very very nice to me and did everything to make me at ease. I want to apologize to a great team and Doctor who did a wonderful job and treated me very well. Everyone involved was extremely nice to a patient who was not so good. Plus they did a great job with surgery and healing. i would recommend this hospital and staff to anyone. Thank You all.

My mother was admitted for surgery and spent five days in the hospital. Unfortunately, the overall nursing care was very inconsistent. Out of the five days, only two nurses were truly attentive, kind, and responsive — we are very grateful for them. However, most of the staff seemed overwhelmed or unavailable. My mom had to wait over six hours for the IV team, and when she needed help to use the bathroom, we often had to wait more than five minutes after calling for assistance. Her veins are known to be difficult, yet she was poked four times for bloodwork, which caused unnecessary pain and bruised. To make matters worse, her discharge medications were never sent to the pharmacy, and even five days after surgery, this issue still wasn’t resolved. We understand hospitals are busy, but patie

I don’t even want to give LIJ a star. Our experience was horrific. After 12 hours in the emergency room I was admitted to a cubicle on the second floor. It is a ward of beds separated by a curtain. I went in because of internal bleeding. I was not fed for. 3 days and given tests. It took forever for the doctors to communicate the results with me. They suggested procedures, changed their mind and then changed their mind again. I checked out and will get help elsewhere
