Lakewood Modern Dentistry

I was very nervous about my first appointment as I’ve had some not so great experiences with dentists in the past. When I walked in the door, the check in person was very warm and friendly, making me feel welcomed. The assistant who did the complete set of x-rays was was also friendly and took care while performing a sometimes uncomfortable procedure. And then the doctor-she was amazing! She took her time with the exam and explained her findings throughout. She gave her recommendations and we have a plan in place. 10 out of 10!

Open schedules and easy to book with. Everyone at the front desk is quite nice and usually very helpful. The facility is also very clean and there is a nice sense of organization and comfort within the rooms. Not onto the not so great. Their financial system with Smile Generation/Smile Generation Financial (yes they are separate for some reason) is not great. The Financial portion only has automatic payments for a few months at a time before they sneakily charge you late fees. Financial even charged me to mail in my bill with no initial notification or warning. There were other issues with the system and mistakes by others I was having, but that was my main issue. I have had Dr. Lam and she is not someone I would recommend. She rushes through your treatment like she has better things to do

I don’t ever really post reviews but I had to write one for this place. I haven’t been to the dentist in two years, my own fault, but all of of my visits my dentists said my teeth were great! I just went in to get a normal teeth cleaning, I went in and got X-rays which is fine as it’s cover by my insurance. But going in for my normal teeth cleaning the doctor came in and said she needed to read my teeth and was reading 4’s, 5’s, and 9’s! When I’ve never had anything like that before and while she was reading them she was very tough on my gums unfortunately. They quoted me $3,100 for a deep cleaning and a couple of other things that I’ve never needed before with my other dentists 😞 They refused to clean my teeth unless I paid the $3,100. I definitely do not recommend this place.

I had a root canal. Dr. Sherman listened to me and provided the extra anesthesia I needed. I never felt any pain from the procedure. Dr Lamm also provided extra anesthesia as I requested and prep for a crown was completely pain free. All the staff have been genuinely friendly. This is a diverse neighborhood and several of the young assistants are Hispanic women. The staff is diverse. I requested and received a three month payment plan for the root canal. I am very comfortable at this dental office. The doctors are very efficient.

Loved my experience! They made setting an appointment up & getting my insurance very easy without having to really talk with anyone (just sent an email/left voicemail); which is super helpful for people like me with high social anxiety. I was very nervous coming in, but they were very welcoming! The lighting is nice & warm! Felt very cozy. Dr. Dave was super helpful with my gingival scaling! I have been to other Modern Dentistries before, and I just really liked his technique when cleaning my teeth. I could tell he had a system and was like multitasking; he really got all the crevices without hurting me too! I just moved from Colorado Springs and am happy to have found my new dentist!
