Kevin Kwan MD FAANS Neurosurgery

I highly recommend Dr. Kevin Kwan as your Neurosurgeon. He took a baseball size cancer tumor out of my spinal (back, lower area) and replaced a rod to support my back straight so that I can stand straight and walk. To me, it’s just like a miracle ! My wound at the back had never gotten infection, bleeding or leaking. Dr. Kevin Kwan take good care of his patients. Dr. Kwan saved my life ! I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Kwan. He is an exceptional surgeon with an even more exceptional bedside manner. From the very first visit he will treat his patients like family — patient, kind, and genuinely caring. He takes his time to explain everything, listens without rushing, and always makes sure you feel supported and understood. What stands out the most is how much he truly cares about his patients. He goes above and beyond, offering a helping hand whenever needed and making you feel safe and confident throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find a doctor who combines skill, compassion, and warmth the way he does.

I was referred to Dr. Kwan after many physical therapy sessions and attempts to manage my back pain. Dr. Kwan was extremely thorough in explaining his diagnosis of my spinal condition that would possibly be causing my pain. He didn't just tell me, but actually showed me my x-rays and MRI charts as he explained. He also gave me choices of how it could be addressed and explained each in detail, and the various possible outcomes and his recommendations. We decided on the surgical actions to be taken and proceeded with the surgery. Dr. Kwan was always extremely attentive, both pre and post-surgery, never condescending, always allowed me to express my opinions and concerns, and very responsive to any inquiries or concerns that I had. Both my mother and father were Dr. Kwan's patients and were experiencing extreme sciatic nerve pain, to the point where they could not even sleep, and were told by other doctors to "just do physical therapy" (which only made the pain worse). Dr. Kwan was able to see them quickly and recommend us a minimally invasive surgery to reduce the pain. After the surgery, my parents have been pain free and have been able to go back to their regular lives. I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Kwan as it is rare to find a doctor who genuinely listens to their patients and demonstrates a high class level of care throughout the intake/recovery process.

I very rarely feel compelled to share my experiences medical or otherwise. I was in extreme pain for years before I walked into Dr. Kwan's office. Surgery was not even an option, until it was! I had my spine surgery in August, and while I am still in recovery I am already feeling better than I did prior. He is amazing! Really easy to talk to and he listens! I can't forget about the support team, because noone does anything great alone. They all care about every patient that walks in the door. I had a last minute clearance for surgery, and I remember thinking,actually crying because my surgery was going to be canceled, but it wasn't.
