We have been to a lot of hospitals and South view has been the best hospital that we have ever been in. My husband lost his left leg. The doctor tried so hard to save it but infection set in, so they had to amputated up to the knee. Dr. Melton was very compassionate with us. He explained everything with us. He was a very good surgeon. My husband was in the hospital for a week and OMG, all the nurses and the aides were great with my husband. They took care of both of us. When my husband was depressed, they were right there and they listened to him. All the nurses that took care of my husband were the best. Even the ladies that brought him his food were good to him. Especial thanks go to the many nurses who took care of my wife with diligence and great skill-Rachel, (1st nurse), Samantha (night shift), and Jesse (morning shift). I delivered my 4th child here by cesarian and I have never been so comfortable. The staff has been absolutely amazing. I want to give the biggest Thanks and Shout out to Dr. Caldwell for delivering my daughter she communicated with me about everything. A special thanks to the anesthesiologist for being extremely tuned in on how I was feeling and making sure I was okay. He made me his number one priority during and after my delivery. I live 5 hours away now, but continued to get prenatal care through Kettering instead of going somewhere closer to home. And I am SO thankful I did! I’ve received the absolute best care, and so has my newborn who unfortunately has to stay in NICU. They have since discharged me, but because I live so far away and given that my son is still in NICU, they’ve been gracious enough to let me stay at the hospital as a guest so I can be close to him. I nearly lost my life during delivery due to a hemorrhage that would not stop bleeding. I lost over 3 liters of blood, was put on a ventilator, then somehow by the grace of God (along with the incredible surgeons, Dr.Dickerson (who delivered my son), & the nurses and staff) was able to get up the next day to feed my baby boy. I had a hysterectomy last week with Dr Day's team and it was a wonderful experience! The nurse's and staff were excellent! My recovery at home has been very manageable with all the "tools" given to me for recovery. I had everything I needed. Highly Recommend Dr. Day and his team for this procedure.
