Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation - West Orange

On my behalf of my family, we would like to thank everyone at Kessler (West Orange, NJ location) for taking care of my brother. All the staff members treated my brother and my family with kindness and patience. It was nice for my parents to have a peace of mind during this stressful time. The caseworkers were quick to respond to my questions. I was shocked when caseworker Naydin (sorry if misspelled your name) that I can text her phone for any concerns/questions. My brother really liked the food. He also said he made friends with staff and patients. My brother is much better than when he came in. The facility is very clean. Thank you so much!

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the extraordinary care I received during my time at your facility. Kessler is truly a remarkable place, defined by an environment of compassion, dedication, and genuine kindness. I want to specifically recognize three individuals whose support was instrumental to my recovery: • Dr. Jaicy For your clinical expertise and steadfast dedication to my health. And continued care • Ms. Brooks-Pantano: For your dedicated and compassionate care, vestibular treatment and clinical expertise. • Julie Lipiyanka: For your unwavering service and the support you provided when I needed it most. My uncle recently had a leg amputation and came to Kessler for rehab as he learned to use his prosthetic. From the very beginning, the entire experience gave our family peace of mind during what could have been an overwhelming and stressful time. The doctors, therapists, and staff were incredible—knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring every step of the way. The facility itself is excellent, with everything he needed to feel supported and make progress. Thanks to their expertise and compassion, my brother was able to regain confidence and independence much more quickly than we imagined. We are so grateful for everyone at Kessler. They truly went above and beyond, and we can’t recommend them highly enough.

I will start by saying that the therapists were great and would be 5 star on their own but other issues were the problem. The facility is old and mechanically failing. One of the 2 elevators is out of order and has apparently been so for months. There is no plan for dealing with upper floors access should the remaining elevators break down. Nurses and therapists are understaffed particularly on weekends.Staff doctors may or may not show up when promised. The food is so terrible that patient families are urged to bring food from the outside. I should note that my comments are based on the main building. There is a newer addition that I did not have access to.

Naomi Lopez, DPT & Alyssa Natale, OTR/L in the outpatient spinal cord injury gym have been nothing short of amazing to work with throughout my recovery. Their expertise & motivation for doing anything and everything to help their patients meet their goals is truly unmatched. I could not recommend them enough.
