My experience at John Hopkins was poor, and I would not recommend them for patient-based care (as opposed to research or specific procedures). The neurologist, Dr. Chua, I saw was polite superficially, but overall did not listen to myself, or other doctors who made multiple attempts to discuss concerns with him. In the time I spent under John Hopkins care, not only was the health issue I was sent to them for not helped, but the impersonal and negligent care I received resulted in several other health conditions worsening that directly stemmed from his recommendations. Questions I would ask about my health were answered with literature quotes and fee-based options; rather than getting a direct answer to my questions I had about the direction of my care and worsening outcomes. I'm a patient with Dr Liang who works for the Center for Transgender and expansive health and let me just say that the magic she worked on my phalloplasty is beyond what I expected! She is amazing, listens well and will provide all the information she can if you have any questions. She will even break down medical terms and explain it if need be. I HIGHLY recommend her to any one looking into getting surgery.

This in no way reflects the doctor who was a great doctor. This has to do with my surgery I had on July 21st for breast surgery. I got there at 6:30am and didn't leave until around 9pm. The placed three metal jagged edge pieces in my breast and messed one up, only to have another placed in. I understand mistakes happen but I was given nothing for the pain except Tylenol. It was excruciating/unbearable from the time I arrived until late evening when I left. I even told them I was in so much pain but again I got Tylenol which gave me no relief and I sat there in so much pain for hours. When I woke up from the surgery I was crying due to how much pain I was in. I had to beg for something for the pain which never have I done or would think I would have to.
