4 months ago, I visited Dr. Nelson for a 2nd opinion on my rotator cuff tear from a bicycle accident. The 1st doctor told me that my shoulder could not be fixed, and my only option was to have reverse shoulder replacement surgery. Before making the decision for surgery, I wanted to try PT and when I saw Dr. Nelson, I was 1 month into PT and I was making progress. Dr. Nelson did an exam, looked at my MRI scans and PT notes, and best of all he listened to me. We had a good conversation. He felt that I could recover if I continued my PT and he was right on! I have one more PT session and I am thrilled with my results. I am not 100% where I was before my injury, but I am pretty darn close and I am back doing all the activities that I love, including kayaking. Dr. Nelson gave me confidence

Dr Johnny Nelson did my shoulder replacement surgery two months ago. My surgery went very well and I've had no problems and I'm pain free. I can't say enough about Dr Nelson and the Bone & Joint Surgery Office for their excellent care and respect. Thanks Dr Nelson for all your help!!

This summer I played recreational soccer with the Eastgate Football Club. The Eastgate field is immaculate—no bumps, no divots—so I felt confident I’d remain injury-free for years. One of the club members was a boisterous gentleman from an obscure old-world kingdom in a forgotten corner of Germany. I don't think his country even has a Walmart. He explained that excessive regulation had restricted access to soccer fields back home, forcing his family to flee to the United States of America in search of true freedom. He was friendly, told many humorous jokes, and went by the nickname “Mad,” which in hindsight felt like foreshadowing. Well, Mr. Mad got to running full speed in my direction. Although he didn’t run into me, I was scared and I tumbled to the ground. In the process, I hurt at

I have dealt with carpal tunnel for over ten years. Dr. Nelson was very professional and proficient. The members of his office staff were helpful and kind. Setting up the procedure was very easy; there was great communication and the process from consultation to surgery was executed in a timely manner. The procedure itself was a piece of cake! I had both hands done at the same time! Each hand took approximately 20- 25 minutes and the procedure was virtually painless. Recovery time was also minimal. I had surgery two weeks ago today. I have had absolutely no numbness, burning, or tingling in either hand! I experienced some pain and soreness but compared to other surgeries, recovery was fairly easy! I highly recommend Dr. Nelson if you are contemplating carpal tunnel surgery for a less invas

Dr. Nelson repaired a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. In leading up to the surgery, he was thorough in his evaluation and in his explanation of treatment options. Surgery went well with no complications. During subsequent post-surgical appointments, Dr. Nelson reassured me that healing was progressing well. He also clearly addressed next steps in the recovery process. (i.e. physical therapy)
