Update I was just called by Dr. Gambacorta, and was told now that my case if very complex, and that in his personal opion he didn't understand how I would be saving any money with coming to there college to have my snapins completed. Mind you 25-30k is what snap ins cost and at the college it's half that price if not more. He also tried to convince me that driving four hours and having the school do it was a waste of time. Basically he tried to say they are saving me time and money. Also he said they transfered my care to the "paid" side because they didn't want to do it in steps. Simply put they made my case out to be something simple, but when it come down to it the school backed out. Saying that I shouldn't want to drive 4hrs to have this work completed. Every conversation I had within

I came to MUSC because I missed my insurance window at a new job and was referred there after getting a high quote somewhere else. I take pride in my smile and have spent thousands on braces and dental care. I already had X-rays and knew exactly which tooth needed a root canal. Instead of addressing the real issue, they insisted on repeatedly scheduling me for small cavity fillings and having me pay out of pocket. I specifically asked my student provider, Caroline, whether she could do the root canal, and she avoided giving me a straight answer every single time. She also never followed up when she said she would, and she ignored calls. Because of this negligence, the tooth that needed the root canal cracked in half. Only after this happened did she finally tell me she wasn’t allowed to

For decades my wife, children, and I have received superb dental care from the teachers of the very dental professionals you may end up seeing for your own care. The technology continues to amaze: it's cutting edge! We are very satisfied. We believe our teeth our in sound condition.

I came in for an emergency root canal in the fall of 2022. I've never been a fan of dentists and often dread going - so this trip was definitely nerve racking for me. What I experienced was true professionalism, a dedication to patient care, and one of the most painless dental procedures I've ever experienced in my life (and I heard root canals can be terrible.) I can't speak for other classes or groups of students, but the group they had when I came in was exceptional. The future of dentistry is in solid hands. Special kudos to Dr. Black.

I needed extensive work and could not afford my local dentist. The dental school has a program you apply for and if accepted agree to allow 3rd year students to work on you with supervision of faculty. It will work better for locals than long distance, but I am proof that the distance is possible. Nine months and I am thrilled with the results. Best of all is the financial savings, about 1/3 of my local dentist with excellent results and I helped a student with hands on experience. My one dislike was the first few visits. X-rays, cleaning, and items that would be handled in a single visit at a local dentist required 3 separate trips. I knew this when I signed up but it was inconvenient. I would gladly do the same thing again.
