Dr Duke performed a total knee replacement on my right knee and did an absolutely wonderful job. He has practiced in Ocala for thirty years and has done over 11,000 joint replacements. The entire experience that began with x-rays and cortisone shots and gel shots was very professional. After these shots Dr Duke explained my choices and together we decided on total knee replacement. The operation went well and after 11 days I was totally off all pain medication and walking without using a cane or walker. After 17 days I was driving. The entire staff was very competent and helpful. I recommend Dr James Duke for joint replacement. His experience and smooth running nursing staff is why he has such a great reputation.

My husband and our family was so blessed to have Dr. Duke as my husband's surgeon! Dr. Duke and his staff are wonderful!! Dr. Duke's staff encourages patients to call whenever they have a question or need something and returns all calls quickly. All the staff are caring and compassionate people. Dr. Duke has a process for keeping patient's family informed of every progress of the surgery through texts to each family member. This relieves so much stress on the family. Dr. Duke is a genius & the nurses & doctors that help get me ready to go into surgery are also amazing & true professionals. On what seems like a short nap I woke up in Recovery with a great nurse that answered questions about my legs being numb from the Spinal shot & reassured me the numbness would slowly go away and so it did. I found how Dr.Duke & the hospital put an app where your loved ones would be told what was going on from the time I was in recovery to telling everyone on the app that my wife was in our room 5405 reading the information about my surgery on the app. The nurses and people that take care of you in your room were very professional & helped me walk down halls, take me to the bathroom when I called guided to to whatever I needed to get through this surgery. Dr. Duke lives up to his reputation as one of the region's most outstanding Orthopedic Surgeons. My hip replacement took place about 3 weeks ago and my recovery has been as strong as I could possibly have expected. I expect in the next couple of weeks I'll be walking pain-free without even a need for a cane.

Dr. Duke is an excellent, experienced Orthopedic surgeon, specializing in joint replacement. He did my knee replacement in about an hour with 38 minutes of tourniquet time. As a physician, I was impressed by his expertise and organization. He answered all of my questions prior to surgery. I was discharged same day by 1 PM. Pre and post operative nursing care at West Marion Hospital was terrific. Anita from anesthesia was outstanding, no problem doing my spinal. Courtney, his APRN, and Jennifer, his coordinator, as well as his office staff were great. Follow-up nursing care and physical therapy at home was organized and done well.
