We first discovered our then 8-year-old had visual processing disorders when her audiologist suspected it and gave her a test that determined what our girl's brain sees isn't what is actually displayed. I searched my area and discovered Dr. Jacqueline Theis, OD, FAAC in the Short Pump area. She did the initial assessment in one session and we began doing daily therapy for about 15 minutes using an online app to do eye exercises. We had weekly virtual meetings with Dr. Theis to discuss her results and for her to adjust the exercises (making them more difficult or faster or to change which exercises she did). This went on for several months and when she was reassessed, our girl's visual processing test came back in the normal range. I highly recommend Dr. Theis! She is not only an expert in
