I recently had cervical neck surgery performed by Dr. Mo at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, and I can’t express enough how positive my experience was. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Mo's bedside manner stood out. He took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, addressing all my concerns with patience and clarity. His confidence and compassion made a significant difference in easing my anxiety before surgery. Very unfortunately I had to have two neck surgeries in a 6 month period and I didn’t hesitate to travel two hours to return to his care because of the trust I have in his expertise. The surgery itself went exceptionally well. Dr. Mo’s skill and precision were evident, and I felt reassured knowing I was in such capable hands. The hospital staff was equally impressive. I stayed at Mount Vernon Rehab for three weeks in January and February 2025. Due to my TBI, I was able to have my own room, which may make my experience somewhat different from others. I had a wonderful experience (as wonderful as one can have when they need rehab!) at Mount Vernon. My doctor, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, nurses, aides, and other providers were all fantastic. I felt cared for, heard, and valued. My husband researched local rehabs while I was still hospitalized, and Mount Vernon came out on top, which I thankfully got to experience why! They have a fantastic peer support program, where past rehab patients come back to share their experience with current patients, and I hope to be able to give back in that way soon. My only feedback is that t

I thought that I had already experienced the worst hospital care available. I was wrong. During my surgery hospital employees caused severe abrasions on my legs. The abrasions are now infected and I am on antibiotics. Instead of transferring me to the rehab area of the hospital, as agreed to before surgery, I was discharged on the say-so of a physical therapist. I was not even seen by the surgon who performed the surgery before being discharged. They needed/wanted the room for someone else, so they pushed me out, with no concern for my health or living circumstances. Patient Dumping, anyone? The nurses at the hospital were nice, but did not have any nursing knowledge - everything was over their heads. They could not answer the most basic questions. After my surgery the nurses and o

Dear Patient Relations Department, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the care my son received and the lack of professionalism displayed by the staff at the Inova Emergency Department. Upon arrival, our intake and vitals were completed promptly. Despite an empty waiting room and an online listed wait time of 14 minutes, we experienced significant delays. After my son provided a urine sample for testing, we were sent back to the waiting room for an hour and a half. He was then called back for bloodwork and an IV was placed in his left arm, after which he was again sent to the waiting room. After waiting an additional two hours—totaling nearly four hours without any status updates—the empty IV line began causing my son significant pain, tingling, and numbness. When I addres

Brought my mother to the ER this morning - in the course of sitting in the waiting room, she had to vomit. After getting her situated again, I went to the coffee shop inside the hospital to get her some hot water (my mom requested it). Knowing that troubling someone for "just" hot water would be bad, I also ordered a small coffee for myself. The person on staff refused to take my order for hot water. I really wanted to get my mom what she wanted, so I ordered a "hot tea without the bag" instead, and that order was accepted. This angered me so much but I didn't want to get into an argument and get back to my mom as quickly as possible. The medical care we received first rate and that's all that counts in the end - hence the 4 star review. However, the pettiness I experienced at
