I had an exceptional experience at Inova Urgent Care on Maple Avenue in Vienna, Virginia. After falling on ice Saturday evening at my apartments and injuring my shoulder and knee, I came in feeling uncomfortable and concerned. From the moment I walked through the doors until the moment I left, the level of care I received was outstanding. Kandis Bell at the front desk was warm, welcoming, and efficient. She made the check-in process seamless and immediately put me at ease with her kindness and professionalism. Dr. Afsaneh was truly remarkable. The worst medical service ever. They don’t answer the phone — only online appointments. I made an appointment for a finger X-ray (I fell off a ladder). Spent $25 on a taxi. When I arrived, I told the receptionist twice that I needed an X-ray. They charged $200 for an examination and said they would bill another $75 for the X-ray. I waited 20 minutes. They took me to a room, asked a few questions, measured my temperature and blood pressure. Then I waited another 15 minutes, and a nurse came in and said I needed to go to another town for the X-ray because they didn’t have a specialist there — and that it was my fault for not mentioning I needed an X-ray specifically. The urgent care waiting area and exam room was very clean. The staff were very helpful. We arrived at 10, I had an appointment, and was seen by 10:15. The nurse practitioner was thoughtful, listened and explained her treatment plan. She answered all our questions. When I went to see my primary doc a few days later they agreed with the treatment I received.

Disorganized and unprofessional care. Despite arriving early and completing all paperwork ahead of my appointment, I still waited two hours to be seen. Clinic staff seemed visibly overwhelmed and understaffed. Communication lacked empathy and it was frankly a really unwelcoming environment. My long wait time resulted in an uncomfortable exchange with a staff member, who was wildly dismissive and rude about my concerns. It was a strange experience that left me feeling worse then when I arrived. I've been to this location several times before, but this visit was a major disappointment - not sure what's going on with management and staff, but please do better. This is not it.

It was incredible! The person at the reception desk was incredibly kind, patient, answered all our questions with genuine kindness. The nurse we met was incredible - just listened to me without interruption or anything and I felt so heard! They were also super efficient and helpful!
