Dr MacLean repaired my torn meniscus and it was a fantastic outcome. I had no bruising, I was pain free to the point of stopping all pain meds and walking without crutches 2 days after surgery. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to and most importantly a talented surgeon. I have already referred him to my friends and family. If I ever need his services again ( hopefully not) he will be my first call.

An amazing provider. Timely availability of appointments, Dr. MacLean and his staff are always very prompt, courteous, and ensure my needs are properly addressed and that I not only understand the treatment plan, but the reasoning behind it, and that I agree with it. The surgery he performed was outstanding. I have recovered much faster and at a higher level than a previous similar shoulder surgery on the other side of my body. While I hope not to need his services again, this is the only specialist I plan to see for future shoulder issues! The VCU support staff and the processing in and out of appointments is some of the best I have had anywhere in the world.

Dr MacLean is a fantastic surgeon. He helped me with my adhesive capsulitis in June 2025 and I am nearly at 100%. After not being able to raise my arms for over a year, I am still building strength but I have great flexibility. He does very well with asking questions to help patients get the care that they need. I highly recommend him.
