Houston Pediatric Neurology and Sleep

I wanted to share my experience from yesterday’s appointment, as I left feeling very disappointed. I had heard such positive things and came in hopeful about the visit for my son. Unfortunately, the interaction did not feel as supportive or welcoming as I expected from a pediatric specialist. The tone felt somewhat dismissive, and there wasn’t much effort to connect with my child in a way that made him feel comfortable. At times, it felt as though she did not even want my child to touch anything, which made the environment feel tense rather than child-friendly. At one point, concerns about checking rooms for hand sanitizer were mentioned to someone else in front of me, which felt unrelated and uncomfortable during our limited appointment time. I had an excellent experience during my visit for migraine treatment. Doctor Samiya was extremely patient, took the time to listen carefully, and conducted a very thorough evaluation instead of rushing to conclusions. What I appreciated most was the thoughtful approach to treatment — focusing on meaningful lifestyle changes rather than immediately prescribing multiple medications. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt truly involved in the decision-making process. The plan included realistic lifestyle adjustments and well-defined future checkpoint appointments to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed. This gave me a lot of confidence and reassurance that my migraines are being managed proactively and thoughtfully. Thank you very much!
