Houston Methodist West Hospital

My daughter had surgery at this hospital. The neurological team was amazing. The icu nurses were attentive and compassionate as well as the nurses on the 5th floor. It was awesome to have these doctors and caregivers during such a difficult time for us. Thank you Methodist hospital!

I had a good experience with my doctor, when giving birth, but my postpartum experience at this hospital was less than positive. The constant wake-ups in the middle of the night, for things that weren’t medical related (trash changes and all lights on, random staff barging in and asking if our room temp is okay… when we are sleeping comfortably and have bedroom thermostats, overnight nurses saying the car seat check had to be at 3am, overnight nurses being overall rude and off-putting). I had a child prior to this birth and it was in a different state and I experienced none of these problems/ irritations. I picked Methodist west because I thought it looked nicer but I was disappointed by staff and my overall experience. Wouldn’t be postpartum or have an experience at this hospital again. I

March 1st—->to ER at 9:30PM ——> March 2nd admitted at 4:30AM to observation floor——-> discharged on March 3rd at 6:09PM. They took my blood on the 2nd and no one interrupted the results from them until March 4th at 4:20AM. When I saw my test results, I became very alarmed. Nearly every test came back as “Abnormal” and all of the abnormalities needed to be tested and corrected in a hospital, not a GP office. I reached out to the Nurse Help Number for clarification and was accused of taking medications that “made my speech sound like I was drunk”. What they didn’t know, I was still up vomiting and dry heaving all night and I was exhausted. I visited a friend of mines and every nurse I came across with whenever I needed to step out had an amazing, friendly attitude. For a first time visitor, I was welcomed and directed to where I needed to be whenever I got lost. Not to mention, I visited the cafeteria and unfortunately, there are some days where your card will act up. However, an amazing duo of nurses and one by the name of Diandra took care of that easily. Their small act of kindness turned my whole day around, I cannot thank them enough for that. Truly, everyone here has been amazing <3
