Personally I love the hospital, doctors, nurses, cna, the entire staff is awesome. I personally was a patient for 3 months after brain surgery and my experience was amazing the love, care and dedication this hospital offers is amazing. I went through a difficult experience I am so grateful I the opportunity to be around living and caring human beings. Honestly I was scared to leave I was scared of of facing reality but they didn't send me home til I was ready to live on my own again. Now I go there as an out patient and do physical therapy and occupational therapy and the best decision I made. I love the staff. I never appreciated pt and ot therapist the eas I do now. This hospital has changed my life. Anything is possible if you believe you can do all things and have the right village beh

I couldn't get myself started on equipment because I was NEVER showed how to adjust the machines. Or told my weights on the machines to self start! I'm doing a program now that I love. You have a folder with all the machines with the weight you use on each machine. They walked me through and thoroughly assessed the weight, operations, and it is so easy and well organized!. You look in your folder and find your machines and weight and off you go! All in your folder!! Makes it so easy to be in control of your workout! While HSC is a good program, it could use some improvements. Like the patients educated on self starting their work out. Stephanie was a awesome! She motivated you and praised you on how much you've achieved! She made you want to be there! The other woman Rhonda was kind of mean

I was a patient at HFSC for a little over a month long stay in the Cardiac unit for heart issues that arose due to Lung issues. I had the best care I've ever had while there. I didn't have any negative experiences while I was there. Every single employee from Doctors to nursing, even down to housekeeping were extremely kind, and caring while I was there. I would recommend The Hospital for Special Care to anyone, anywhere in the world, and I mean that with all of my heart and soul! A HUGE thank you to everyone for believing in me, when I didn't believe in myself that I could ever live after what I went through before getting to The Hospital for Special Care. PS.. The food there is actually amazing! Not the usual "Hospital Food" if you're on a "regular diet" .

Connecticut is a small state with a large population of neurodivergent people. I’ll be honest and tell you that your options for care for an autistic person in this small state are limited. Even our states children’s hospital is not equipped to handle the needs of an autistic person. Other doctors and centers throughout the state do not have the focused care that autism, especially complex autism needs. CT in my personal opinion owes Hospital for Special Care resources and grants for that fact alone. Our family has been with HFSC for several years. In our time we’ve only used outpatient services and I’ve seen the facility change in more ways than one. Thankfully the providers have for the most part remained the same, and that tells me that the providers you meet are reliable and trusted.

I am done with this place. I just needed a report I got from a neurologist for my application to get some accommodations for tests and that I just needed the neurologist who evaluated me to place a header for the report. That was all I needed help with.. However… what I thought was going to be a very simple task has been an absolute headache of a NIGHTMARE with this place. I live too far away to go in person so I have to resort to calling on the phone to ask for help on the matter and MY GOD these people are not professional in the slightest on the phone.. I call them a couple times first and no one picks up. Im confused because they’re clearly open but I leave voicemails detailing what I need help with and I wait. Nothing.. so I keep trying and FINALLY they call back! I answered… then.. T
