Homestead At Soldiers & Slrs

This is a horrible facility, from ignored call bells for sometimes hours, to being left in urine and feces with bed soars, to mean nurses and aides, management and social workers that will ignore your calls, twist your words and absolutely deny everything every time. This place is one of the worst. Short handed most of the time, that is there excuse for most any neglect issue. Not right to the residents who need proper care. Some staff do there job but a lot don't. The staff needs to be better supervised and held accountable for poor Care and laziness....This doesn't happen. Complaint after complaint goes on deaf ears even to the very top. I wish I could have done more but home care and availability elsewhere was not an option for the care needed. My brother has been there for just over 2 years and in the beginning it was great but we have dealt with ongoing neglect issues, from personal care to his room and bed being filthy. He has had several "accidents" due to them not answering his call to use the bathroom, they claim to be so short staffed therefore my brother ( and I'm sure other residents) are being neglected. He has also had several falls...way to many excuses and passing blame every single time they are confronted..I advise you to look elsewhere if you need to place your loved one!!

This facility is the worst. Have had several family members die as a result of their care. Neglect is their game. They are short handed, don’t answer patient calls in any sort of timely manner. They fail to recognize when a patient requires medical care beyond their capability, when the hospital is right there. The nurse manager is the worst, yelling at patients and throwing food trays on the table. Do anything you can to avoid this facility. Personally I would rather die going to another facility than die in their hands.

This facility should be shut down with the poor care they are giving their patients. The nurse manager should be fired she is rude and yells at patients, throws things at patients and yells at family members visiting their loved ones if they ask for something. Do not trust this facility with your loved one. They will be ignored, mistreated and not taken care of.

My mother has been at the Homestead for over 2 years and has received exceptional loving care from all of the nurses, aides and professionals. They are sometimes short handed and should hire more aides but for the most part I really appreciate the care they have given to my mother who is extremely disabled.
