I cannot thank Dr Schum and the office staff enough for how they handled the passing of our beloved pet Chewy. Everyone involved was professional and compassionate towards us. We are relatively new to this office, and we have been evaluating whether this would be our Vet for years to come. Yesterday’s visit has sold us on this practice. We highly recommend the services here.

I took 2 feral cats to the humane society to get their shots AND spaying. For both, it cost me $160 ($80 each). I had NO IDEA how much getting, yet a 3rd feral, fixed at the vet would cost. I expected it to be higher, but get ready. $1,038 for spaying only. That's on top of the almost $200 for her 1st visit/round of shots. You can not tell me the vet spays so differently that it justifies a $940 premium over the humane society. I couldn't care less with a nipped ear, if it would have saved me more than $1000! I feel taken advantage of.

As I’m grieving and crying over the loss of my best friend of 17 years, all I hear coming through the door were laughs by Dr Shrum and staff as if a valuable and cherished life wasn’t just lost. We have taken many family members over the years to holly tree vet. But hearing a boisterous happy voice coming from the back room after just a terrible loss, I now understand why staff leave and he can’t keep other vets employed at the office.

I don't know about the owner, but they need more experienced vets and techs. My cat was dieing when I brought him in, stayed the day. I spoke with the vet several times about euthenizing after her two options that did not seem positive. My cat was miserable and felt terrible, and I didn't want to lose him or him to suffer like he was. She wouldn't even talk about euthenizing, but suggested I go the $3000-$4000 route at the emergency room vet with a long reabilitaion. I know my cat, and he was not going to survive that process. So much so you would think the vet gets a kick back from these emergency services. They were way too casual about my cats condition. I went that evening to pick up my cat so I could watch him overnight even though the vet said his condition got worse though the day.

The folks here really care. I've seen some reviews regarding price...and yes they are not the most economical but the care your animal will get is exceptional. Dr's Pate and Shrum and staff do everything they can to properly care for their patients. We have both of our dogs here for treatment and boarding and are very happy.
