HMH Southern Ocean Medical Center

I was brought here in October after having to call 9-1-1 because I was extremely unwell. The ER staff was fantastic and very efficient and my situation was taken quite seriously. Labs and a CT scan were done quickly and was admitted within an hour or so. I spent 9 days here and overall, considering my situation, I received very good care. I had a absolutely horrible experience with the interventional radiologist but that's another story that I don't want to revisit because it was so traumatic. The meals provided seemed to be good quality, although I was really unable to eat so I can't speak further about them and I was on special diet, which was prepared with care. Getting assistance from a nurse was fairly timely and it was understandable since the unit seemed full. I only wish my issue

My husband was in the ICU from 1/13/2026-2/3/2026 when he was transferred to a specialty hospital to finish his recovery. All of the staff were so great with him and he was a handful. They were so attentive and so kind even if they weren't assigned to him specifically. James R, Kate, Amy and Sam were his favorite nurses but really all of them from the unit secretary, Susie to the Dr's felt like family ❤️ We are so thankful for their wonderful care.

We had a truly wonderful experience At SOCH , thanks to the medical assistant ( Juleeanna S) who helped care for my special needs daughter. During an incredibly stressful time, she showed exceptional kindness, patience, and compassion. She was one step ahead and communicated with nurses, Dr., and Emt's , about Emily's love of Wicked and Hamilton. She talked to the transport team , so they were able to connect with my daughter , making sure they knew what helped keep her calm and comfortable. She continuously reassured my daughter and took the time to explain things using real life scenarios that helped her better understand what was happening, and helped her with coping skills, so we could get through the hard moments. spent 2.5 days there and was a great experience from the minute i walked into the ER. ER staff was amazing .then was moved to the 3rd floor where everyone of the nurses that were assigned and a few nurses that were not assigned to me went over the top to comfort me and take care of me . kristina, Katlyn, Emily and a few others i don’t remember the names sorry. i then had to get a catheter to check my Arteries. the nurses there were amazing as well. they made me laugh the whole time i was being prepped. they made sure i was comfortable and not nervous . i have been to a few hospitals that was not a good experience . i have not one bad thing to complain about. that you staff!!!

I had right side rear flank pain, on the pain scale it was a 10/10. I drove myself to City MD in Manahawkin, after some tests they told me I needed a CT scan for better imaging & to go to the Hospital. It was the longest 9 minutes & 4.3 miles of my life. I walked in & they were fast acting & professional. Got me in right away & brought me back to the ER rooms. Took some blood & gave me pain killers through the IV port. Took me for a CAT Scan. I showed that I had a 2mm Kidney Stone & it was stuckv at my bladder. They gave me prescriptions for pain & to help flush out the stone & it came out on it's own. Thank You 10,000x
