Hackensack Children Emergency room is the best place you can take your injured child. My daughter Nina is a figure skater and while at her practice was accidentally pushed by older skater and bit her top lip and huge chunk of it was hanging there and we knew we need to go to ER. We were welcomed by very nice front desk Staff and then taken in by wonderful nurse Shanah ( sorry if we misspelled your name) who explained to my daughter what will happen next. We were put in a room and another ER nurse came with a doctor who consulted with plastic surgeon right away on the best approach. After waiting for plastic surgeon my daughter got check every 10-30 min by Shanah and another nurse Cesar both were wonderful. After Plastic surgeon arrived (Dr Zapiach) they kept my 8 year old informed of the p

Our experience in the Children’s ER was extremely distressing and unprofessional. If families have the option to bypass the ER and be admitted directly to the PICU, I strongly believe they would receive far better care. The nursing care we encountered was deeply concerning. One particular nurse displayed a consistently poor attitude and lack of professionalism. No healthcare worker should speak to parents with hostility especially when caring for a newborn. If someone dislikes their job to that extent, they should not be working with vulnerable patients. Our newborn had her blood drawn repeatedly, resulting in visible bruising. What makes this even more unacceptable is that the nurse openly stated in front of us that the diabetic testing machine was defective yet instead of replacing the

My child was admitted and stayed overnight because of a serious health issue. The nurses were terrific, the room was spacious, and even the food was decent. Everything went smoothly until we wanted to get discharged the next day. The doctor did not show up the entire morning nor in the early afternoon despite asking on 4 separate occasions about the discharge. After not getting an answer for 2 hours, we were about to leave when the doctor finally decided to show up. It almost felt like a deliberate attempt to keep us there longer than necessary. Edit: A hospital rep reached out and apologized, so giving back one star for following up appropriately.

I am sitting in the hallway right now writing a review. My daughter just had nose surgery now had lumps on the back of her head we brought her in as per her doctor. A nurse told her to do a urine sample then a student physician’s assistant came out and asked questions and that is it. Over an hour and a half. But registration found me asap. It is absolutely disgusting how not one nurse or doctor has spoken to us yet. Yet they are all walking back and forth and talking on their phones. I am so beyond disgusted.

Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience - Will Not Return I have brought all three of my children to this hospital many times over the years for fevers, illnesses, vaccinations, and numerous Emergency Room visits. However, following our last visit for my youngest daughter in May, we have decided we will no longer use this facility. Here are the key issues we encountered: 1. Lack of Professionalism and Empathy: The staff were consistently unfriendly and dismissive. As a parent bringing in a sick child, I expect a degree of empathy and clear communication. Instead, we felt rushed, our concerns were not fully listened to, and explanations were insufficient. It felt like the staff were merely going through the motions without caring about the child's distress or the parents' anxi
