HMG Primary Care at Abingdon

Had incredible care and understanding today at the Abingdon office. Went in for testing and felt awful and the team was so accommodating and kind and definitely went above and beyond for me. Lisa in the lab is always so kind and gentle with me as well. I really needed that today and it was amazing

I am so pleased! Absolutely everyone was great! The receptionist was so friendly and pleasant. The nurse's and the sweet lady in the lab who did my blood work.( which was completely painless thank you again!). They all just went above and beyond to make it a pleasant & positive appt. Last but certainly not least Dr Townsend! She is just Awesome. I've had a couple unpleasant encounters with doctors in the last few years but Dr Townsend has restored my faith in doctors. She LISTENED to me. She asked me what I thought ( a first in my 52 yrs). She was caring, thorough,and like I mentioned before she listened to me. I've only been a patient for a couple months but I can tell you I feel truly blessed to have found HMG & Dr Townsend. I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend them to anybody.

Moved to the area and recently had first visit with PA Kelsey Stapleton. Can’t say enough wonderful things about her and nurse Mallory. Also amazed that you can get labs and X-rays in same office so quickly. Their follow up with me has been amazing as well. I’ve never experienced such great care.

After waiting for a call back about what could have been an emergency I was told that there wasn’t anyone to talk to after first being Told we would get a call back in 15 minutes well that turned into an hour. This medical system is a joke and I wouldn’t take my dog to hmg!

I have a great doctor, she is the best. Dr. Whitman is a 10. HMG is great I like them more then Ballad Health, all money no doctors. Here lately getting in to see my doctor is the real test. Don't get me wrong covid mess everything up, getting in to see my doctor was never this hard. If you have to cancel good luck rescheduling. There are days they seem to be running behind. They call you back to get your weight and temp but then send you out to wait for a room. Say your appointment is at 9 and you get back to a room a hour later. How can you take new patients when you can't get the patients you have scheduled/rescheduled for an appointment.
