Hiawatha Care Center

I had the opportunity to spend several hours in Hiawatha Care Center across 3 days while in town to visit a family friend who is receiving post stroke care there. Each employee I encountered in those 3 days impressed me as being engaged with the people in their care, tender hearted, respectful and patient. I know my family friend who is there and the family are grateful to have found such a wonderful facility.

My mother was a resident for 10 months from November 2020 to September 2021. This was during the days of Covid, visitor restrictions were in place much of that time. During these months the staff provided great and compassionate care. They did their best to allow her family to be with her whenever possible. She enjoyed the activities which helped pass the time. The staff treated her as if she was their own mother. Even though she is no longer with us I volunteer there occasionally to keep in touch with the friends she made and those I made.

One of the cleanest and nicest facilities in the Cedar Rapids area. The staff truly care about each resident and are held to a high standard. Tons of fun and unique activities are planned for the residents every week and just an overall great place for your loved one to be! Can’t recommend it enough!

We had a last minute family gathering for my brother in law who resides there.The staff was over the top with tables and chairs to host around 28 people for a pizza party. It made te gathering so much less stressful on the family. Thanks to the week end staff last week end! Your the best! Roger Hicks and family.

Though my mother in law resided here a short time, quality in every area was superb! Never had to worry. Food was yummy. The activities for the residents is outstanding. From taking part in raising animals, gardening, field trips, movies, games, cooking, and Happy Hour. The list goes on and on. Thank you for quality care!
